Time to Take Action.

NEVER WALK ALONE

What's The

Issue?

Blog

Approximately 11.5 million Syrians have fled their homes since the outbreak of the civil war in March 2011. Now, in the sixth year of war, more than 13 million are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Majority of those escaping conflict have sought refuge in neighbouring countries or within Syria itself . According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), 4.8 million have fled to Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, and 6.6 million are internally displaced within Syria. The war has brought so much turmoil along with it and it all has been forced upon these poor Syrian people. They have endured pain much greater than what most have. Millions have lost their homes, their jobs, loved ones... none of these people asked for any of this, it is a situation that has been bestowed upon them and they are just trying to make ends meet.

Imagine watching as violence and bloodshed took over your country, forcing you with no other option but to flee. Imagine traveling thousands of miles, risking your life, just to throw yourself on the mercy of strangers in a foreign land.Arriving in a strange country, you do not speak the language, and you have no clue of what to do next. Day by day, you are left with nothing to do but wait and wonder if things will ever improve. Being a refugee can affect all aspects of an individuals life, mentally and physically.

This blog provides an insight into the current situation of Syrian refugees worldwide.
